This tour combines a guided walking tour of Verona in the morning and in the afternoon one through the famous Valpolicella wine region.
On a two and a half hour private walking tour of Verona, you'll quickly understand that this city is much more than the famous Roman amphitheatre and the ill-fated love affair of Romeo and Juliet. Starting with the Roman conquest of the city and ending with its contemporary history, the different stages of Verona's urban development are clearly illustrated by the monuments that crowd its historical centre.
After Verona, we will drive up into the nearby hills to explore the delightful countryside of the Valpolicella wine region. Making our way along scenic back-roads you'll visit enchanting places; small villages with picture-postcard views of the surrounding terraced slopes, mountains and Lake Garda. Lunch can be taken at a restaurant (not included in the package) high up in the hills, famous for its cuisine and incredible views of the surrounding hills covered in vines. To celebrate the day in true style, we'll visit an evocative and historical winery, where you can taste different local wines, including the famous Amarone.
