Enjoy a special day in the lesser-known area of Mugello, north of Florence. Birthplace of the famous Medici family whose castles still do the cypress-lined landscape.The verdant Mugello valley is a part of Tuscany that is less frequented by tourists. We'll immerse ourselves in its beautiful environs by taking an easy walk along dirt roads to visit the Medici castle of Trebbio.Lunch (not included in the package) will be taken at a local Trattoria (home cooking) where you'll have the opportunity to sample delicious regional cuisine and local wines. Then, we'll make our way through the idyllic countryside to Cafaggioli.Cafaggioli Castle, built by the Medici, was later transformed into a luxurious villa. Here you'll be able to admire the beautiful architecture silhouetted against the cypresses-lined roads and rolling hills.Before returning to Florence, you'll pause at the city of Borgo San Lorenzo, for free time and shopping.
