The close connection between Man and Nature is one of the defining concepts of the Florentine Renaissance. Explore this connection by visiting five celebrated villa and garden complexes: the Villa Gamberaia in Settignano with its "secret garden" and famed water parterres; the Villa Medici on the slopes of Fiesole, celebrated site of 15th century humanist culture and shelter to famous poets like Poliziano and Pico della Mirandola; the Villa Poggio a Caiano where generations of Medici brides stopped to prepare themselves for their ceremonial entries into Florence. Lunch will be in a typical restaurant (not included in the package) around the little village of Artimino, and you can test the local wines that are from one of the great wine-producing areas of Tuscany. After lunch you will visit the vaulted wine cellars (entrance not included in the package) built under the town walls.
