From Piazza del Gesù you will visit the Church of Gesù Nuovo, well known for the ashlar-work of its façade and the liveliness of its interior decoration in Baroque style. On the other side y will see the majestic Church of Santa Chiara, an exquisite example of medieval spirituality with its 14th century Bell Tower. Here you will admire the magnificent Tomb of Roberto d'Angiò and the Cloister of the Clarisse with its splendid majolica tiles. Proceeding down Spaccanapoli ,you will arrive in Piazza San Domenico Maggiore to visit the wonderful Cappella San Severo with its Veiled Christ, a famous sculpture of incredible and realistic effect. The tour continues along Via San Gregorio Armeno, the street of the famous crib artists, up to Piazza San Gaetano where you will visit Naples Underground. The walk will take us through quarries and tunnels of the 4th century BC, at a depth of over 130 feet. At the end of Spaccanapoli you will find the Duomo with its Chapel, where the Treasure of San Gennaro is kept with flasks containing the saint's blood. Every year in May and September the blood liquefies, a miracle that has been studied by scientists from all over the world.
